Use a mild detergent: Use a mild, liquid detergent that's gentle on the fabric's delicate fibers. Avoid using too much detergent, as it can clog the machine. 

Avoid bleach: Bleach can damage the cotton and cause the sheets to wear out faster. 

Avoid fabric softener: Fabric softener can reduce the softness of your sheets and make them less breathable.
